Benefitting from her study at the former Art Training Institute in Melbourne, Gita's knowledge and mastery of her painting technique is largely self-taught.

 

In the recent years she has worked on many commissioned portrait paintings and drawings, but she felt the increasing need to paint more freely. She has therefore recently embarked on a new path with her still life paintings, showcasing a perfect balance of light, shadow, color and luminosity. In her new work she shows more of her intuitive side, without compromising on her excellent technical skill. She experiences her new approach as liberating.

 

The Indonesian Gita Pranoto is born in Sofia, Bulgaria, raised in several countries around the world, and presently resides and works from her home studio in The Hague, the Netherlands.
